FAQS

What’s the dress code?

Dress how you like.

No, really, what should I bring to wear?

If it’s not raining, the ceremony will be outdoors. Montagu is semi-arid and it’ll be early spring, with likely highs from 16-20°C (high 60s°F) and lows from 8-12°C (the high 40s or 50s°F) and sunny. In American terms, the climate is a bit chillier than Los Angeles in winter.

You’ll be happiest if you have layers—a couple short-sleeved shirts or dresses, a light sweater, a heavy sweater, a jacket, a warm cap or brimmed hat, warm socks, a scarf, and closed-toed shoes. If you plan to wear a skirt or dress, bring tights. Bring sneakers or walking shoes, as well as a bathing suit if you’d like to swim.

Block heels are fine, but stilettos aren’t a good idea, since some walkways at the venues are gravel.

Can I bring my young kids?

We love your kids, but due to space restrictions, we can’t host them at the wedding itself.

What are we eating?

We'll be having a barbecue on Friday night, a light lunch on Saturday after the ceremony, and on Saturday night, a three-course dinner featuring lovely stuff from around us, like local trout and lamb shoulder. There’ll be veggie options as well as breakfast spreads where you stay. If you have dietary needs or demand yak milk in your coffee, let us know.

What are we drinking?

For wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks, we’ve got you.

Is there reliable wi-fi at the venues?

Yes.
